GETTING STARTED
We encourage students, parents, teachers, activists and community organizers of all kinds to use the Walk Unafraid Anti-Violence Awareness Kits to bring attention to the social or environmental issue that most concerns you.
You want to get the word out – let people know what the problem is that needs to be addressed – and bring people together to create positive change.
That is exactly how the Walk Unafraid project originated, back in 2003 when the founder – artist activist Gabrielle Senza wanted to raise awareness about the prevalence of physical, sexual and emotional abuse in communities all over the country. To break the silence on the taboo subjects of incest, domestic violence and child abuse, Senza created an arresting art installation in a public square that captured the attention of gallery visitors and passersby.
You can carry on that mission by bringing the Walk Unafraid project to your community.
Here’s how you can get started:

2. Download and review the Walk Unafraid Workshop & Installation Guide.
3. Organize your group of participants.
4. Set a date for doing the workshop and installation.
5. Get the word out in advance about your project by using the Media Kit Tools.
